ELANA Trading was awarded for contributing to the capital market by number of deals made in 2017 at the annual ceremony of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange recognizing the achievements of local brokers.

In the end of 2017 ELANA Trading was ranked first in the annual ranking of the best Bulgarian brokers – a position the company has been holding since 2010.

2017 was reported a successful year for the Bulgarian Stock Exchange

Bulgarian Stock Exchange turnover increased by 70% year-on-year and the main index SOFIX wrapped up the year 15.52% up. Ivan Takev, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, presented a dynamics analysis of the stock market performance in the last years. Data showed that August 2017 was the strongest month in the last 7 years with SOFIX rallying to 720 points and the turnover exceeding BGN 200 mln. He added that capital raised through the market last year was BGN 222.9 mln., which was a sign for the local capacity.

The second executive director of Sofia course, Vasil Golemanski, noted the crucial new projects for the local market – apart from legal changes to contribute to improvements of access and investor protection, secondary trading with Bulgarian government bonds was launched on the bourse in November. Crucial impact is expected to have on the market the listing of SOFIX ETF on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange as well as the introduction of 10 ETFs on markets in CEE by Expat Asset Management.

The bourse management looks at 2018 with the plans of a good year with novelties to be introduced and new IPOs to improve liquidity on the market.
