Liquid Bulgarian stocks deliver 4% average dividend yield in 2016

Liquid Bulgarian stocks deliver 4% average dividend yield in 2016 from 2015 profits distribution, according data as of end of June 2016 compiled from company announcements and ex-div date stock prices available. This is slightly lower than 2015 average result when 214 profits were distributed among investors. The 5-year average dividend yield for all liquid stocks is 5.3% with 7 out of top 20 DY stocks outperforming it.

Who outperformed the average dividend yield?

The outperformers are mostly REITs but also pharmaceutical wholesaler Sopharma Trading. Chimimport was also among highest dividend payers but on its preferred stock. The latter, however, were converted to common stock with management proposing to start dividend payouts on common shares as well. The proposal is to be put on vote at the regular shareholders’ meeting scheduled for July 27th and yields 3.5% at current market quotes.
